A downloadable game

Includes a 2 page character sheet in color and black and white.

This is intended as a simple introduction to the D20 System for younger children. It is designed so that only a d6 and d20 are needed.

While the rules are intended to be mostly the same as a regular D20 game, there are a few changes you may notice.

First, there are no races or classes. The player and GM may decide on race/class for flavor, but it isn't necessary.

Second, instead of ability scores and modifiers, there are only modifiers. They have mostly been renamed, to be words younger children will remember easier. Strength remains the same, Dexterity is now Speed, Constitution is now Toughness, Intelligence is now Brains, Wisdom is now Instinct, and Charisma is now Popularity.

How you decide on modifiers and health has been simplified, and is explained right on the page.

Instead of Armor Class, there is now "to be hit." There are level 1 stats for armor and shields included on the page, but as they play, the GM can allow them to find or purchase new gear, just like normal.

Attack types essentially replace class. All attacks deal 1d6 + appropriate modifier, regardless of weapon or attack spells. The differences will be in how they can use these items creatively, both in combat and in roleplay.

Spells are fairly open ended for what they are or what they can do, to be decided on between player and GM. There are 3 general ranged attack spells, which deal fire, ice, or lightning damage. The spells Charm, Heal, and Help, all have explanation on the page. The other spells are Slow-Fall, Sleep, Light, and Speak with Animals. How these work can be decided on for flavor, or just in the original rules.

Skills and saves are now mostly for the GM. Whenever necessary, the GM may ask for a roll with a modifier.

The "notes" section can be filled with whatever is wanted/needed. Maybe a brief description of their background, or the other players' names, or campaign notes, etc.

Playing with young kids requires creativity and flexibility, so a big goal in designing this sheet was to allow for exactly that. This makes it easier to focus on the fun, rather than the rules, for their early introduction into tabletop games. You can add more rules and structure slowly over time as they're ready.

Thank you for trying it out, and I hope you enjoy playing with your young group. Happy adventures!
